Professor Nagel Elected to the American Academy of Arts & Sciences

Professor Robert Nagel, Rothgerber Professor of Constitutional Law, has been elected to the American Academy of Arts & Sciences. The Academy is the nation's oldest learned society, and its current membership includes 150 Nobel laureates and 50 ulitzer Prize winners. Professor Nagel joins 16 other CU faculty members who have been selected as Fellows of the Academy over the years. Nagel was also invited to deliver the Brainerd Currie Memorial Lecture at Duke University School of Law. His lecture was titled, "Diversity and the Practice of Interest Assessment." He was asked to deliver a paper on judicial protection of human rights at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, as well as one on the political theory of federalism at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington. His book, The Implosion of American Federalism, was a topic of a session at the Annual Conference of the American Political Science Association. He lectured on the Supreme Court at the Midwest Legislative Conference Annual Meeting and at the National Conference of State Legislatures.
