Pulitzer-prize Winning Author Starr Discusses Recent Book at Law School

November 17, 2004

On November 17th, the Silicon Flatirons Telecommunications Program hosted Pulitzer Prize-winning author Paul Starr (click here for his personal home page) for a discussion on his recent book, The Creation of the Media. The event assembled a top flight group of academics and professionals to discuss the implications of Starr's acclaimed book for today's digital media. In particular, the panelists focused on the historical success of America's private, pluralistic media in contrast to other countries reliance on governmental control of the instruments of mass communications. The event marked the completion of a highly successful season for Silicon Flatirons, which explores topics at intersection of technology, business, and law. Silicon Flatirons will begin next year with two exciting events, its first annual CIO Forum and its Digital Broadband Migration conference on "Rewriting The Telecom Act." For that story, click here.
