Colorado Court of Appeals Hears Two Cases at Colorado Law
Every year the Colorado Court of Appeals holds a session here at our law school for the purposes of providing the law students at first hand the invaluable experience of observing a real appellate advocacy in action. The law students not only get the opportunity of learning how oral arguments should be conducted at the appellate level and also learn about the proper lawyer etiquette of addressing the judges during an oral argument.
This year the Colorado Court of Appeals Judges JoAnn L. Vogt, James S. Casebolt, and David Furman heard two arguments, one civil and one criminal, and the judges and clerks also spoke at an informational brownbag for law students during lunchtime.
A reception followed after the hearings and students had an opportunity to directly talk to the judges and ask questions.
