Professor Weiser to Publish Groundbreaking New Book on Telecommunications Policy in the Internet Age

November 1, 2004

Just in time for Congress to begin re-examining the foundations of American telecommunications policy (i.e., early next year), Professor Phil Weiser's book (co-authored with Jon Nuechterlein), Digital Crossroads: American Telecommunications Policy in the Internet Age, will be published by MIT Press in the Spring of 2005. "When I first entered the world of telecommunications policy in 1996," Professor Weiser relates, "I could not find a thoughtful and independent book that explained the field in accessible terms. My co-author and I wrote Digital Crossroads to explain to students, practicioners, and general readers the intricacies of telecommunications policy in the Internet age. In so doing, we hope to convey why we find this area so exciting, intellectually challenging, and important to our society and economy."
