This bipartisan panel, all of whom have been involved in drafting Initiatives 170 and 171, will discuss the redistricting and reapportionment processes in Colorado and the principles that guided the preparation of the Initiatives. The panel will also discuss the status of cases before the U.S. Supreme Court which may affect Congressional redistricting. A bipartisan group has agreed on these Initiatives, both of which provide greater representation for unaffilliated voters, provide greater transparency, and utilize neutral criteria for the drawing of maps. Lunch will be provided for attendees appearing in-person. For the Colorado context review 2-1-102, C.R.S. and Hall v. Moreno, 270 P.3d 961 (Colo. 2012)
