Join Colorado Law and author James P. Turner on Monday, April 23 for a lunchtime talk in Wittemyer Courtroom. James P. Turner, a 1957 graduate of Colorado Law, served as Deputy Assistant Attorney General, the senior career lawyer in the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division, for 25 years under seven consecutive Presidents of both parties. He will talk about his book, Selma and the Liuzzo Murder Trials: The First Modern Civil Rights Convictions, the inside story of the prosecutions for a shocking 1965 murder that marked the beginning of the end for klan terror in the south.
