Come grab lunch with Colorado State Senator Mike Johnston as he discusses his education background and the state of education policy in CO and the US. Mike is a Yale Law Alumni, former DU Law Professor and was senior education adviser to President Obama. During the two terms Mike served in the Senate, he helped pass major progressive legislation, like the Dream Act, so undocumented students who had spent most of their lives in Colorado could get a fair shot at college, the CLEAR Act fighting to stop racial discrimination in the criminal justice system, and JUMP START to help grow new businesses in rural counties with unlimited potential but limited resources. Mike will also be speaking about his Colorado Promise plan for two years of free college for all Coloradans. Lunch provided! The university does not endorse the candidate, and any opposing candidate will be offered a similar opportunity to speak.
