Asian Pacific American Law Students Association (APALSA)

APALSA seeks to:

  • educate, represent and advocate the interests of Asian Pacific American and South Asian American law students at CU;
  • educate and promote a deeper understanding of the political, financial, social and historical role, contributions, and status of Asian Pacific Americans in America; encourage participation, leadership and community service amongst Asian Pacific Americans;
  • provide an opportunity for fellowship among its members and broaden career development opportunities for Asian Pacific law students at CU;
  • encourage cooperation with the DU chapter of APALSA as well as other organizations of minority law students; and
  • inspire students, law students and legal professionals to serve the interests and aspirations of Asian Pacific Americans and other under-represented peoples.
If you are interested in joining APALSA, sign up for our organization on TWEN and you will receive email notifications on upcoming events. Each year, elections are held for those interested in serving on the APALSA board, including positions for president, vice-president, treasurer, secretary, SBA representative, and fundraising committee.

Past Activities

Each year, APALSA sends its members to various conferences held around the country. Members attend the annual NAPABA/NAPALSA conference, a joint conference of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association and the National Asian Pacific American Law Students Association. In fall 2011, APALSA sent five of its members to the conference held in Atlanta, Georgia. APALSA members also attend the annual National Asian Pacific American Conference on Law and Public Policy (NAPACLPP) held at Harvard Law School. In addition to conferences, APALSA participates in the minority mentor/mentee program and the Pledge to Diversity Summer Program.
