Bio:
Professor of Law, Chase College of Law, Northern Kentucky University.

Ken Katkin teaches and writes in the areas of Constitutional Law, Communications Law, Legislation, Federal Courts, Contracts, and Entertainment Law. He is an award-winning law teacher, a frequent media commentator, and a well-published scholar. Before entering academia, Professor Katkin litigated constitutional and telecommunications law cases with the Washington D.C. firm Wiley, Rein & Fielding. In that capacity, Professor Katkin's clients included America Online, CBS, GTE, McCain For President 2000, the Media Access Project, Pacific Bell, Southwestern Bell, NTT (the Japanese AT&T), Clear Channel/AMFM Broadcasting, Inc., INTELSAT, COMSAT, and the Washington Legal Foundation. Before entering private practice, Professor Katkin clerked for the Hon. David M. Ebel of the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, in Denver, Colorado.

Professor Katkin received his JD, magna cum laude, from the Northwestern University School of Law, where he graduated second in his class, served as an editor of the Northwestern University Law Review, and was admitted to the Order of the Coif. Professor Katkin also was active in the Northwestern University Legal Clinic, where he twice participated in cases that led to reversals of death sentences.

Before attending law school, Professor Katkin worked as an Artists and Repertoire Director for several independent record companies, and as a non-commercial radio disc jockey and talk show host. Professor Katkin holds an AB degree in mathematics from Princeton University.

Professor Katkin serves as a Visiting Professor at the University of Colorado Law School.
