Joshua J. Widoff is an experienced business and real estate attorney who has been a senior member of multiple successful real estate platforms sponsored by Black Creek Group since 2007. He was named by the Denver Business Journal in 2012 as one of Denver's Best Corporate Counsel. As a senior member of management overseeing various aspects of the operation of Black Creek's private equity funds and public REITs, Mr. Widoff also plays a lead role in structuring and launching new real estate products. He is a Managing Director of Black Creek Group and participates daily as a member of the C-Suite, advising on matters of strategy and balancing risk to achieve business objectives.

Mr. Widoff also serves as the Chief Legal Officer and Secretary of Black Creek Group including its sponsored public REITs. As of March 31, 2018, these companies held approximately $5.5 billion in assets comprised of over approximately 55 million square feet of industrial, office and retail properties across the United States. As Chief Legal Officer, Mr. Widoff oversees all legal aspects of these public companies, including acquisitions, capital raising, joint ventures, fund formation, financings, asset management, leasing, dispositions, securities filings, regulatory matters, corporate governance, and litigation.

Under his oversight and guidance of key processes since 2007, the various public companies sponsored by Black Creek Group have acquired or disposed of over $10 billion in investments through hundreds of transactions involving real estate, entity, and debt acquisitions and originations. During that time, he also oversaw the negotiation and closing of the successful public company merger of Industrial Income Trust Inc. in 2015 for approximately $4.5 billion. Over this same period, he has helped to manage the securities law aspects of over $5.5 billion of capital raised through both public and private offerings, including helping to lead negotiations on three joint ventures with large sovereign wealth funds.

In addition to his activities at Black Creek, he also currently serves as a member of the board of directors of the U.S. subsidiary of a publicly-traded Canadian oil and gas company, Enerplus Resources (NYSE: ERF). Currently, Mr. Widoff also serves as Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Denver Urban Renewal Authority, overseeing tax increment financing for some of the largest redevelopment projects in Denver, including the $419 million mixed-use redevelopment project at Ninth and Colorado. Mr. Widoff was a member of the Leadership Denver Class of 2002-2003 and served as Co-Chairman of the 2007 Denver City Council Foreclosure Task Force. He has served on many charitable, community and political boards during his career, including as Finance Committee Co-Chairman and Treasurer for Michael Hancock's successful campaigns for Mayor of Denver in 2011 and 2015, as well as Co-Chairman of Mayor Hancock's Peak Performance Transition Committee.

Prior to joining the Black Creek Group, Mr. Widoff was a partner at the Denver law firm of Brownstein Hyatt & Farber, where he was active in the management of the firm, serving as chairman of the firm's Associate and Recruiting Committees and overseeing an integrated team of attorneys and paralegals servicing clients primarily in the commercial real estate business. During more than a dozen years of private practice, he managed transactions involving the acquisition, development, leasing, financing, and disposition of various real estate assets, including land, apartment and office buildings, hotels, casinos, industrial/warehouse facilities, and shopping centers. He also participated in asset and stock acquisition transactions, convertible debt financings, private offerings, and complex joint venture negotiations.

Mr. Widoff received his undergraduate degree from Trinity University in Texas, magna cum laude, and his law degree from the University of Colorado School of Law where he was named to the Order of the Coif.
