Bio:
Ben Fernandez is an intellectual property partner at WilmerHale. Ben's practice includes domestic and international patent and trademark portfolio management, freedom to operate/competitive landscape analysis, intellectual property diligence, post-grant review proceedings, and patent litigation. His more than 15 years of experience in private practice has included representing clients in a wide range of industries including microprocessors, mobile devices, footwear and fashion, renewable energy, and medical devices.

Since 2012, Ben has served as clinical supervisor for Colorado Law's patent student attorneys within the Entrepreneurial Law Clinic. This clinic, which operates under certification by the United States Patent and Trademark Office ("USPTO"), allows student attorneys to prepare, file, and prosecute patent applications under temporary USPTO practitioner registration numbers.

Ben also serves as chair of the ProBoPat Steering Committee of the Intellectual Property Section of the Colorado Bar Association, supporting the regional pro bono patent program administered by Mi Casa Resource Center to connect low income inventors with volunteer patent representation.

Ben received his J.D. from the University of Colorado Law School in 2004, and his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, cum laude, with a minor in French, from Colorado State University in 2001.
