Doug is a lawyer with deep substantive experience advising large corporations and private equity funds in complex transactions and joint ventures. After spending a decade with two DC-based law firms, Hogan Lovells and WilmerHale, Doug joined Vesta, PBC, an ocean-based carbon removal startup where he serves as the General Counsel and Head of Operations. Doug holds a law degree from the University of Colorado (Order of the Coif) and an MBA from Saint Louis University. Prior to becoming a "deal" lawyer, he served as a law clerk to Chief Justice Nathan B. Coats (Ret.) of the Supreme Court for the State of Colorado.
