Bio:
Laurel Witt started her career working for local governments where she currently still works. After finishing her law degree at the University of Colorado, Laurel went to work for the City of Denver as a fellow supporting city council. In that role, Laurel worked with the Council to draft ordinances and create city wide policies. Laurel then went to work for the Colorado Municipal League, a statewide organization that represents Colorado municipalities. While at CML, Laurel worked alongside municipalities to advance municipal interests in the federal and state legislatures and in the federal and state court systems. Now, Laurel serves as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Boulder, where she supports multiple departments of the city including advising the Chief Policy Advisor and the Open Space and Mountain Parks Department. The Boulder City Attorney's Office is generally responsible for all of the City's legal needs.

Laurel is an active member of the Government Counsel Section of the Colorado Bar Association and is a proud member of the Rising Municipal Attorney's Association, which she co-founded, a networking group of over 125 lawyers throughout the state. She is a frequent speaker on local government issues, including at the Colorado Bar Association, the Colorado Municipal League conferences, and more.
