Chelsea Curfman is Counsel at Perkins Coie LLP and a member of the firm's White Collar & Investigations practice.
Chelsea represents companies around the globe facing potential sanctions or enforcement actions from regulatory agencies in the U.S. and abroad, including the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the UK Serious Fraud Office, and the World Bank's Integrity and Compliance Office.
The majority of Chelsea's practice involves conducting internal investigations into allegations of bribery, corruption, accounting and securities fraud, violations of company policy, or other misconduct. She manages both multinational and small-scale internal investigations, and frequently counsels clients on handling whistleblower claims and self-reporting potential violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), anti-trafficking/forced labor laws, and other anti-bribery and anti-corruption (ABAC) laws to U.S. and foreign authorities. For clients under investigation by a foreign government, Chelsea also handles requests for information pursuant to mutual legal assistance treaties (MLATs).
In addition, Chelsea regularly counsels clients on all aspects of their anti-corruption and integrity compliance programs, from the initial creation of program policies and procedures, to monitoring program implementation and evaluating internal controls. As part of this process, Chelsea provides training for company executives, management teams, and legal and compliance personnel. Chelsea has worked with companies of all sizes and across industries, including the extractive industries, oil and gas, telecommunications, automotive, apparel and other manufacturing, biotechnologies, and construction.
Chelsea is a founding member of the Denver chapter of the Women in White Collar Defense Association, and a member of the ABA's Global Anti-Corruption Committee. She is a 2009 graduate of the University of Michigan Law School.
