Silicon Flatirons: LEGAL CODE: The Digital Divide in the Time of COVID-19

As school, work, and recreational activities continue to move to the home - and the internet - the need for bandwidth has magnified. However, the same hurdles facing rural communities seeking high-speed internet access have remained. This panel will examined the impacts of this digital divide on the daily lives of individuals in rural communities; barriers to adoption where access is available; how emerging technology may help respond to the growing need; steps local and state governments have taken in response to this problem, as well as contributions of the federal government and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC); and what changes are needed in law and policy to continue forward progress.
