Lindquist and Vennum attorney John A. Chanin was named President-Elect of The Faculty of Federal Advocates (the FFA) for a one-year term to commence on January 1, 2011. Chanin was elected to serve on the Board of the FFA in 2008. The President works closely with federal bench to improve the quality of legal practice in the federal courts in the District of Colorado. ?I am honored by the trust and confidence of my colleagues. The FFA has a decade-long history of service to the federal bench and bar, and I am dedicated to enhancing that legacy,? Chanin said. ?I am deeply committed to the core mission of the FFA ? promoting the highest levels of professionalism, advocacy and ethics in federal court.? The FFA is an organization of more than 600 federal bar practitioners founded 10 years ago at the behest of U.S. District Court Judge Richard P. Matsch dedicated to increasing the level of advocacy and professionalism in the District of Colorado courts and enhancing the integrity of federal judicial system. The FFA serves as a liaison between the federal bench and the practicing bar, provides on-going continuing legal education opportunities, and administers a court-sponsored pro bono and mentoring program.

Markus May has been appointed as Chairman of the Chicago Bar Association Mergers and Acquisitions Sub-Committee, is a member of the Institute of Illinois Business Law, and past Chairman of the Illinois State Bar Securities and Business Law Section Council.
