The Juvenile and Family Law Club is an organization for students interested in domestic violence, marriage disolution, juvenile justice, child advocacy, and other related areas of the law. The organization focuses on a community service approach to assisting at risk youth in the local Boulder and Denver community as well as bringing speakers to the law school to assist students in career paths in these fields.
The JFLC has worked with the Broadway Youth Shelter in Boulder to bring two independent living workshops to foster youth ages 13-18 who will eventually age out of the foster system, having never been adopted. The JFLC has also worked with the Heritage House in Lousiville to publish foster youth's creative writing and artwork in a publication that can be distributed to other foster youth in Colorado.
