What are the top three reasons that you think a prospective student should choose CU Law?

Faculty: Constitutional & Indian Law

1. High quality of teaching, including student-teacher reciprocity
2. Excellent student body
3. Location, both city and university

H. Patrick Furman
Faculty: Criminal Clinics

1. The student body. As I have already mentioned, they are as good a group of students as you'll find anywhere, in their academics, in their commitment to justice and public service, and in their ability to have fun and keep law school in proper perspective.
2. Boulder, Colorado is a great place to be. The geography, the weather, the access to incredible backcountry, the undergraduate University and the proximity to a vibrant big city, combine to make Boulder a fabulous place to live and work.
3. Our size. We have a relatively small student body and a great faculty-student ratio. These two facts combine to make this school a humane place, where most everyone knows most everyone and there is a shared commitment to the school and each other. This commitment most recently has manifested itself in votes by the law students, and then the entire undergraduate student body on the Bolder campus, to tax themselves to help pay for new buildings across campus, including the new law school building now under construction.

1. Study Law here if you want to practice in Colorado. This is the best lawschool in the region and one of the best in the country, and for people who want to live in this state, CU is the very best place to go to law school.
2. Come to CU if you want a chance to be somebody in lawschool, to be noticed (if that?s what you want), to be a scholar or book worm (if that?s what you want), to be an activist (if that?s what you want). It?s all possible here.
3. Come to CU if you want to get to know some of your professors ? you won?t meet or even want to spend time with all of them, but you may want to meet or spend time with one or two. There?s a chance for that to happen at CU, and in most schools that will not happen.

Scott R. Peppet
Faculty: ADR, Contracts & Ethics

This is an excellent and advancing law school with a lot of energy and optimism. Come here if you want to pitch in and help, if you want to push yourself, if you want a place that is focused on both providing you with excellent training and fostering a sense of commitment and service. There is a huge amount of freedom at this school, both for faculty and students--as faculty we research and teach on a great diversity of topics; as students we will guide you but not be dictatorial about what you take, etc. Come to CU Law if you will excel in that kind of environment. And if you like being outside, there isn't a better place to live in the U.S.

Carolyn Ramsey
Faculty: Criminal, Legal History, Gender Law & Public Policy

1. A relatively low student-faculty ratio and professors who are committed to helping students.

2. Great location in a university town with easy access to some of the most beautiful backcountry in the world and a nearby city (Denver) that offers a few urban delights of its own.

3. Our students are very creative when it comes to finding legal employment. I think that they often make choices that fit their life goals, rather than just following the herd. This is not true of all law schools. As a result, we seem to place a higher percentage of students in government and public interest careers.
