Bio:

Daniel Sherwinter is a Patent Attorney in the Boulder Office of Marsh Fischmann & Breyfogle LLP, a n Intellectual Property boutique firm focusing on the formulation and execution of technology protection strategies. His practice focuses on strategic intellectual property portfolio development, with an emphasis on patent prosecution in the electronics, software, and mechanical arts.

Mr. Sherwinter counsels clients in a variety of technology areas, including telecommunications and networking, signal processing and coding (including medical, encryption, and neural network applications), computer architecture and storage systems, analog and digital circuit design, biometrics, aerospace devices, and business methods and software. In addition to his practice, he has taught a number of courses and given a number of presentations in various IP-related topics.

Prior to his legal career, Mr. Sherwinter was a research and development project manager at The Boeing Company for five years. In that capacity, he designed and analyzed electrical systems for various tactical aircraft programs, and became a company-wide subject matter expert in a variety of three-dimensional modeling and scanning techniques. His projects focused on identifying and utilizing new technologies to improve quality and efficiency, while lowering cost. In addition, he co-invented one patented and one patent-pending method of reverse engineering structural data from legacy aerospace platforms.

Mr. Sherwinter is a graduate of Colorado Law (J.D.) and the School of Engineering and Applied Science at Washington University, St. Louis (B.S.E.E). He is also the current Programming Chair of the IP Section of the Colorado Bar Association, sits on the Entrepreneurial Initiative Board of Silicon Flatirons, and is active in a number of organizations, including the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) and the Colorado IP Inn of Court.
