Alan Pannell joined the University of Colorado Law Library Faculty in October 2005. His primary scholarly interests are law and film, natural resources law, and legal research. His research lectures include media law, business transactions, advanced contracts drafting, foreign and comparative law, and interdisciplinary research. In 2011-12, he chaired the Bridge the Research and Analysis Gap committee for the Colorado Association of Law Libraries. He is the author of the Law in the Reel World blog and writes two newsletter columns on law, film and popular culture.

Prior to joining Colorado Law, Alan served as Law Library Fellow at the University of Arizona Law School. He previously worked for the National Information Center for Educational Media, where he helped developed a thesaurus for educational media. As a staff attorney at the State Bar of New Mexico, he practiced elder law and served as the first coordinator of the Lawyers Care Pro Bono Project.
