Bio:
Alan Canner is a former Partner at Caplan and Earnest LLC, where his practice concentrated on the representation of public school districts. He authored the brief and presented the oral argument to the Colorado Supreme Court in the 1994 case, Bickel v. City of Boulder, the Court's first opportunity to interpret the TABOR Amendment. Mr. Canner developed and taught in 1986 as a third-year student the Law School's tutorial to assist students in exam-taking skills. He served as a Law Review casenote and comment editor and as judicial clerk to then-Chief Justice Quinn of the Colorado Supreme Court. Immediately prior to joining the Law School faculty, Mr. Canner was Executive Director of the statewide organization advocating for hospice care, the Colorado Hospice Organization.
