Bio:
Edward J. Richardson received a B.S. in Economics from The University of Florida in 1967. He graduated from Florida State University College of Law in 1970 with honors. From 1971 through 1989, he was the President of Saxon & Richardson P.S. where he worked as a civil trial lawyer. In 1989, he was appointed by Florida’s Governor to the Circuit Court. As Circuit Judge, Judge Richardson served in all major divisions of the court, including Felony-Criminal, Civil, Probate, and Juvenile.

Judge Richardson has taught various courses including Business Law, Trial Advocacy, Domestic Relations, and Legal Rights of Children. He has lectured on Constitutional Law at the Brevard College Police Academy and at the University of Wyoming on Domestic Violence. Judge Richardson also served as the Chairman of the Jail Oversight Committee in Brevard County, Florida; Juvenile Justice Council; and The Juvenile Assessment Center Advisory Board. He has volunteered his time to judge various Moot Court competitions at both The University of Colorado at Boulder and The University of Wyoming.

In addition to being reelected as judge twice by the voters of Brevard and Seminole counties, Edward Richardson was voted “Best Judge” in 1991 by the citizens in a Florida Today newspaper poll. He is a member of the Florida and Colorado Bar Associations and remains a working senior circuit judge in Florida.

Judge Richardson has three daughters, Rachel, Rebecca, and Kate by his late wife of 41 years Karine Richardson. He has since remarried to Marry Ellen Richardson. He currently teaches Domestic Violence and the Law as well as Juvenile Justice as an adjunct professor of law at both CU and DU law schools.
