Bio:
Daniel D. Domenico is a United States District Judge for the District of Colorado. Judge Domenico started his legal career as an associate at Hogan & Hartson, where he spent three years before leaving to serve as a law clerk to now-Chief Judge Timothy Tymkovich of the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. After clerking, Judge Domenico briefly worked in private practice and served as a Special Assistant to the Solicitor of the United States Department of the Interior. In 2006, he was appointed Solicitor General of Colorado, overseeing litigation and constitutional matters for the State of Colorado. He remained in that role for nine years, representing three different governors and their administrations from both the Democratic and Republican parties, appearing before state and federal courts at all levels, including multiple appearances before the Colorado and United States Supreme Courts. In 2015, Judge Domenico founded his own law firm, Kittredge, LLC, which he managed until he took the bench. He has also served as an adjunct professor of constitutional law and natural resources law at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. He received his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University, magna cum laude, and his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was inducted into the Order of the Coif and served as an Editor of the Virginia Law Review and the Executive Editor of the Journal of Sports and Law. Judge Domenico is a native Coloradan, born and raised in Boulder. He was sworn in as a United States District Judge in May, 2019.
