Strong Reviews for Professor Wilkinson's book, Blood Struggle

Professor Charles Wilkinson's latest book, Blood Struggle: The Rise of Modern Indian Nations (W.W. Norton, February 2005) provides a comprehensive history of the struggle for Native American sovereignty and its place in the American civil rights movement. In reviewing Blood Struggle, Publisher's Weekly writes, Wilkinson's "sympathetic treatment extols the movement's successes in redressing historic injustices?the story of the Native American renaissance is an inspiring one, and this book marks a deserving chapter."

Professor Wilkinson recently attended the Tattered Cover's Rocky Mountain Land Series and discussed Blood Struggle on Thursday, March 10, 2005 at 7:30 pm.

Professor Wilkinson will also give a public reading on Wednesday, March 16 at 7 p.m. in the Boulder Public Library Auditorium at 1000 Canyon Blvd. The free event is sponsored by the CU-Boulder Center of the American West, the Boulder Public Library Foundation and the Native American Rights Fund of Boulder.
