Description
Provides services for establishing and enforcing child support. Also provides services to locate absent, non-paying parents; establish paternity; establish medical support; and obtain child support modifications. It is important to know that the county CSE units do not represent individual families when they collect child support. The people from the CSE unit represent the interests of the state in both TANF and non-TANF cases. No attorney-client relationship or privilege exists. This means that the CSE unit is representing the interests of the state and not the interests of the individual who is seeking child support enforcement.

Financial Requirements
Free if receiving TANF, one-time application fee of $20 if not. CSE units offer services to all applicants without income restrictions.
