2014 Rothgerber Moot Court Competition

Colorado Law hosted the Annual Rothgerber Moot Court Competition on Tuesday, March 11th.

The case was George Janus v. United States. On a granted Petition for Certiorari by the U.S. Supreme Court, the litigants will be addressing important questions of Constitutional and Criminal Law. The facts of the case implicate statements and evidence that raise serious concerns about compelled self-incrimination.

The student finalists who were selected to compete in this year's competition are all 3Ls. Leah Gould and Tyler Boschert will be arguing on behalf of Appellee George Janus and Mary Sue Greenleaf and Kevin Cheney will be appearing on behalf of the United States.

We were honored this year to have three distinguished Federal Judges presiding over the Rothgerber Competition. Judge Stephanie Seymour, Senior Circuit Judge for the 10th Circuit, Judge Neil Gorsuch, U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit and Judge Raymond Lohier, Jr., U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit will be judging the arguments and joining all of the students and guests for the reception in Boettcher Hall.
