The focus of the Interdisciplinary Ethics Tech Competition is to give students a chance to grapple with real-world ethical problems in collaboration with a diverse team of law, business, communications, engineering, telecom, information science, and computer science students. This year's case problem deals with 'fake news' and an online platform's attempts to deal with and verify certain types of content. Each team will present recommendations to panels of judges selected for their expertise in the different fields. The first-place team will receive a $10,000 scholarship award, to be divided evenly among the team members.
