Alix Joseph is a shareholder at Burns Figa & Will, specializing in water and environmental law. She represents governmental entities, businesses, developers, and individuals in acquiring and managing water rights. She prepares sales and lease contracts, performs due diligence, documents financing, prepares conveyance documents, and protects water rights by filing and participating in actions in Water Court. She also assists clients with resolution and litigation of disputes involving water.
Sarah Shechter is an associate at Burns Figa & Will, where she focuses on water law, environmental law, and civil litigation. Before beginning her career in private practice, she served as law clerk for the Honorable James F. Hartmann and Honorable Roger A. Klein in Water Division No. 1, Greeley, Colorado. She also interned for the Honorable Allison Eid, Associate Justice of the Colorado Supreme Court. She is published in the Colorado Water Law Benchbook and she earned her J.D. at Colorado Law, where she was an associate editor of the University of Colorado Law Review and chairperson of the Colorado Moot Court and Trial Advocacy Board (a predecessor to the Barristers’ Council).
The 1L Career Perspectives Lunch Series will bring in engaging and prominent speakers to talk about the various practices of law. The series is open to all students, but 1Ls must attend at least two sessions.
