Description: This seminar considers to what extent ethical life is possible within the bureaucratic circumstances which we face. To what extent are moral precepts anachronistic in our current professional environment? And if moral precepts are anachronistic, what are the implications? Has morality itself become a managerial or rationalizing discourse? And if so, where does that leave us?
First Assignment: For the first day, please read and be prepared to discuss Charles Fried, The Lawyer as Friend. It's available on my twen site. See you on Thursday.
